Hatcher Pass near Willow, AK is great. I love its beauty and often crazy wind and rain. And the scenery doesn’t hurt, either.
It is often difficult to find a corner to take a picture where another human isn’t visible in the frame. I mean that’s my preference, so the low-key frustration is manufactured. I just have to try a little harder and move around.
Interestingly, I never thought of the act itself of taking a picture as a creative endeavor, but it is. You have to move to find appealing angles, work with light, avoid people… there are many factors. Not that I’m any good at it.
But that’s kinda where I find joy in the process, knowing how much I can improve and having no expectations about either the thing in the image or the process of executing it. Why think that much, anyway?
