Few things symbolize our culture better than burial grounds, so I naturally find cemetaries perplexing. Some people are fascinated by them; they confuse me.
It didn’t really come to mind until years afterwards, but our 2018 trip to Indonesia felt more comfortable than walking into the graveyard in Thibodaux. At least overseas my sense as a forgeigner was more appropriate.
Not that we witnessed any graves in Bali. Their life approach is more realistic than ours.
