Sometimes you’re just in the right place at the right time. But, how much of life really is luck? And what does the word even mean?
Even in these entries I have mocked the idea of tracking growth with a calendar, but I’ll admit they have a function. At least they give us a reason to gather with friends and coordinate; at most, the date urges awareness as we age.
Without one, I’m not sure I would have ever seen a flare or its harsh red output because I don’t use them. Apparently they expire; it’s nice that our friends know that, and are thoughtful enough to celebrate the new year with a benign demonstration.
Why would I bring a camera out into the woods when the temperature is below zero? At least that’s what I was thinking while we packed. Good thing I have a phone.
