The usefulness of the cup is its emptiness.
If as a parent I do one thing well,
it will be to teach you nothing:
Expectations are inherited lies,
and they are empty, anyway;
your own thoughts can be derived
from slowly living every day.
I hope while you are with us
that you notice our indifference;
use it as you will.
Succumb not to what you see,
for it is hollow;
nothing will fulfill.
