Of all the scholastic sporting events we attend, I think track is my favorite. Don’t get me wrong, watching some teenage kids wear themselves out just for some possible temporary glory is always fun, but track is both technical and varied. It’s right in the sweet spot for my interests.

You can’t win unless you learn how to lose.

He’s always been a fast kid, but don’t let the blur fool you, he was the closest moving thing. In his first race, though, he came in near the bottom of all heats. We consider him a raw talent and he’s young, so placement is not our concern — he will get better.

But check out that color coordination! He’ll look great on the cinders while he improves.
