Despite my efforts to shun it, I’ve only recently accepted how much I am bound with the world. It’s a concept I only stumbled upon since I became more honest with myself. The insight revealed my arrogance: it made me realize how much I fooled myself into believing my perception IS reality, instead of just one of many approximations.
Regardless of the subject, it seems like our interpretation of the world changes constantly even though the world itself is actually quite static. Humans sure are fickle animals ā but maybe that’s because being alive is really a chicken-or-egg situation that to the indolent can be a confusing and misleading circle.
And that’s probably why wisdom requires so much will and practice: it is not easy to grasp the nature of being alive. But once we understand how much control we have over life, we can easily accept that joy can only be found with humility and a bit of investigation. All we have to do is doubt ourselves a little.
