Why do people leave their houses to stay at a trumped up hotel on the beach where the sunburn is just as easily had as it is in their own back yard? I can’t relate to the appeal. The few people I told about coming here to Hilton Head insisted it is nice, but what does that even mean, are jewelry stores, car washes, and chain restaurants the real measure of a place’s value? Of course not, which makes me feel even more detached from everyone here.

Beach Grass
Dusk is the only time I enjoy… After work… After dinner… Before ending one more day. I’m happy the sky is perfect for only the second half of my walk out to the beach; it reminds me how little time I’ll spend away from home.
