Imagine you’re on a slow moving train bound for an unknown destination, crawling so slowly that all you perceive is sunset and sunrise. There are only a few others on the journey with you, and there is no communication outside the train, so you can only see outsiders looking in as they grind by. The landscape seems constant, but there is a gradual change after what seems like weeks, and the new appearance of those across the window glass is confusing.

Among the strangers on the train and the alien surroundings you are shockingly alone; your time together is now meaningless since most with you don’t understand the train hasn’t moved. Some don’t even sense the duration.
